WORCESTER, Mass. - Junior Christine Strawson (Torrington, Conn.) had 16 kills and senior setter Chrissy Fanning (East Amherst, N.Y.) tied a career high with 52 assists as the Holy Cross volleyball team defeated Quinnipiac, 3-1, by scores of 30-20, 30-23, 27-30 and 30-26, as the Crusaders earned their first victory of the season. With the win, the Crusaders improve to 1-3 overall, while the Bobcats fall to 0-7 overall.

Freshman Elizabeth Auger (Barnstable, Mass.) had a big match in her collegiate debut as she tallied 15 kills, while fellow freshman Meredith Beatrice (Lebanon, Maine) had her best match so far with 13 kills. Sophomore Molly Anderson (Weston, Conn.) was outstanding on defense with 18 digs.

The Bobcats were led by Jenna Benigno's 14 kills, while Ashley Phillips had 30 assists.

The Crusaders return to action on Thursday, September 7, when they host Rhode Island at the Hart Center at 6:00 p.m. in the first match of the Crusader Classic.
