Volleyball Falls To Southern Methodist, 3-0

DURHAM, N.H. - The Holy Cross volleyball team fell to Southern Methodist, 3-0, by scores of 30-16, 30-22 and 30-27 on Saturday morning at the Wildcat Invitational. With the loss, the Crusaders fall to 3-10 overall, while the Mustangs improve to 10-3 overall.

Junior libero Molly Anderson (Weston, Conn.) led the Crusaders defensively with 14 digs, while freshman setter Chelsey O'Donnell (Pittsburgh, Pa.) recorded 23 assists. Senior Meagan Merinder (Andover, Mass.) and sophomore Samantha Surface (Fresno, Calif.) each had eight kills to lead the Crusaders. Senior Katie Fitzpatrick (Queensbury, N.Y.) added four service aces.

The Mustangs were led by Rachel Giubilato's 11 kills and Candice Davis' 12 digs, while Madison Hill recorded 30 assists.

The Crusaders will conclude play at the Wildcat Invitational this afternoon when they meet Syracuse at 4:30 p.m.
