Holy Cross Volleyball Defeated By Syracuse, 3-0

DURHAM, N.H. - The Holy Cross volleyball team fell to Syracuse, 3-0, by scores of 30-26, 30-11 and 30-25 on Saturday afternoon at the Wildcat Invitational. With the loss, the Crusaders fall to 3-11 overall, while the Orange improve to 8-6 overall. Holy Cross freshman setter Chelsey O'Donnell (Pittsburgh, Pa.) was named to the all-tournament team as she recorded 71 assists in three matches, including 29 against Syracuse.

Sophomore outside hitter Liz Auger (Barnstable, Mass.) led the Crusaders with 10 kills, while senior Meagan Merinder (Andover, Mass.) and sophomore Samantha Surface (Fresno, Calif.) each had eight kills.

The Orange were led by Kacie MacTavish's 11 kills and April Quigley's 28 assists.

The Crusaders return to action on Tuesday, September 18, when they host American in the Patriot League season-opener at 7:00 p.m. at the Holy Cross Field House.
