Hartford, Conn.- The Holy Cross volleyball team fell to Central Connecticut State, 3-0, by scores of 30-27, 30-25, 30-16, on Wednesday evening at the University of Hartford. With the loss, the Crusaders fall to 4-8 on the season, while the Blue Devils improve to 6-3.

Sophomore Christine Strawson (Torrington, Conn.) recorded her sixth double-double of the season with 19 kills and 13 digs, while junior setter Chrissy Fanning (East Amherst, N.Y.) dished out 33 assists and had eight digs. Freshman Molly Anderson (Weston, Conn.) tallied six kills and had 16 digs to give her a team leading 132 for the season. Senior captain Caitlin O'Callaghan (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and junior Valerie Mora (San Antonio, Texas) each had six kills.

The Blue Devils were led by Chantelle Bowden and Amanda Olmstead who each had 11 kills, while setter Brynn Good had 47 assists and Katie Seamon had 25 digs.

The Crusaders open Patriot League action when they travel to Easton, Pa., to take on Lafayette on Friday, September 23, at 7:00 p.m., then they travel to Bethlehem, Pa., to face Lehigh on Saturday, September 24, at 4:00 p.m.
