Holy Cross Volleyball Defeated By Navy, 3-0

WORCESTER, Mass. - The Holy Cross volleyball team fell to Navy, 3-0, by scores of 30-21, 30-24 and 30-25 on Saturday afternoon in Patriot League action at the Holy Cross Field House. With the loss, the Crusaders fall to 3-13 overall (0-2 Patriot League), while the Mids improve to 11-4 overall (1-0 Patriot League). Senior outside hitter Christine Strawson (Torrington, Conn.) led Holy Cross offensively with 11 kills, while freshman setter Chelsey O'Donnell (Pittsburgh, Pa.) recorded 29 assists. Senior Katie Fitzpatrick (Queensbury, N.Y.) led the Crusaders defensively with eight digs. The Mids were led by Alexa Gibbs' 13 kills and Marissa Watson's 39 assists. The Crusaders return to action on Saturday, September 29, when they host Army at the Holy Cross Field House at 2:00 p.m. |
