Volleyball Falls To Navy, 3-0

ANNAPOLIS, Md.- The Holy Cross volleyball team fell to Navy, 3-0, by scores of 30-20, 30-23 and 30-19, in Patriot League action this evening. With the loss, the Crusaders fall to 2-14 overall and 0-5 in the Patriot League, while the Mids improve to 7-10 overall and 2-2 in the Patriot League. Junior Christine Strawson (Torrington, Conn.) tallied 11 kills to lead the Crusaders giving her 800 for her career and moving her to fourth all-time in career kills at Holy Cross. Strawson has recorded double-digit kills in 14 out of 16 matches this season.

Freshman Liz Auger (Barnstable, Mass.) had a strong offensive match as she registered 10 kills, while senior setter Chrissy Fanning (East Amherst, N.Y.) had 24 assists and senior Valerie Mora (San Antonio, Texas) led the team in digs with nine.

The Mids were led by Beth McArthur's 12 kills and Kim Koss' 45 assists. Meredith Biri led all players in digs with 13, while Rachel Dougherty was strong at net with four total blocks.

The Crusaders return to action on Friday, October 13, when they host Patriot League opponent Lehigh at 7:00 p.m.
