Crusader Volleyball Downs Lehigh, 3-0

Worcester, Mass. - Senior captain Caitlin O'Callaghan (Brooklyn, N.Y.) recorded eight kills and 13 digs as the Holy Cross volleyball team defeated Lehigh, 3-0, by scores of 30-23, 30-27, and 30-27, in Patriot League action, on Friday night at Holy Cross Field House. With the win, the Crusaders improve to 6-14 overall (2-6 PL), while the Mountain Hawks fall to 5-16 overall (0-8 PL). Sophomore Christine Strawson (Torrington, Conn.) and junior Valerie Mora (San Antonio, Texas) each had eight kills. Junior setter Chrissy Fanning (East Amherst, N.Y.) dished out 24 assists in the win. Lehigh was led by Michelle Schwendenmann's 13 kills and Elizabeth McGehee's 33 assists. The Crusaders return to the court when they host Patriot League foe Lafayette at the Holy Cross Field House on Saturday, October 22, at 4:00 p.m. |
