Crusader Volleyball Falls To American, 3-0

Washington, D.C.- The Holy Cross volleyball team fell to American, 3-0, by scores of 30-17, 30-20 and 30-16, in Patriot League action, on Friday night in Washington, D.C. With the loss, the Crusaders fall to 6-18 overall (2-10 PL), while the Eagles improve to 21-8 (12-1 PL).

Sophomore Christine Strawson (Torrington, Conn.) led the Crusaders with eight kills and six digs, while junior setter Chrissy Fanning (East Amherst, N.Y.) had 18 assists. Junior Valerie Mora (San Antonio, Texas) was second on the team with five kills and five digs.

American was led by Elizabeth Maloney and Rubena Sukaj who each had 15 kills. Christina Nash led all players with 41 assists.

The Crusaders return to action tomorrow night when they travel to Annapolis, Md., to face Navy in Patriot League action at 7:00 p.m.
