Crusaders blanked by Boston College

Sept. 14, 2004

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - The Holy Cross volleyball team fell to Boston College in three games (17-30, 14-30 , 22-30) Tuesday evening at the Power Gym.

Holy Cross was strong in the beginning when senior Caitlin Agostinacchio (Bellmore, N.Y.) , tied the first match at 16 points with a kill. However, Holy Cross was unable to keep the momentum going as the Eagles went on a 10-point streak. Agostinacchio totaled a team high of six kills for the night

Senior Lauren Liesman (Wincheste , Calif ) and sophomore Valerie Mora (San Antoni , Texa ) led the team in digs with 11 each. Setter Michelle Leahy (Andove , Mass. ) tallied 12 assists for the Crusaders.

The Eagles were led by Katie Andersen who posted a double-double, 10 kills and 15 digs. Boston College had three other players with double-digits, including Kristin Kenney with 12 digs, Verena Rost with 11 digs and Alison Shepp, who added 10 kills.

Holy Cross will travel to Poughkeepsie, N.Y. to compete in the Red Fox Classic hosted by Marist College, Friday-Saturday, Sept. 17-18. The Crusaders will go up against Brown at 2 p.m. and Central Connecticut at 4 p.m. on Friday. Holy Cross will follow with a third match against host Marist on Saturday at 4 p.m.
