Women's Cross Country Announces 2009 Captains
Holy Cross Richard L. Ahern '51 Director of Cross Country, Track and Field Jim Kavanagh has named seniors Sarah Croteau, Meghan Dunne and Claire Luke as captains for the 2009 cross country season. Last season, Croteau ran a time of 19:09.38 at the Murray Keatinge Invite, placed 14th at the Blue Devil Invitational (19:35), ran a time of 19:18 at the National Catholic Championship and a time of 20:25 at the New England Championship. Spilka Receives Georgoudi Award
Seven Crusader athletes are among a group of graduating Holy Cross seniors who have been selected as winners of Academic Awards for the 2008-2009 school year. Seniors Daryl Brown, Jerry Dickinson, Sebastian Fidelus, Wade Lucas, Stephen Schoenberger, Kelly Shaw and Colleen Spilka are the athletes who have been honored. These individuals received their awards in a special presentation held in the Dinand Library on Thursday, May 21. (more)
 
The womens cross country squad was one of 14 Holy Cross teams honored for its academic work.

HC Receives Public Recognition Awards
Fourteen Holy Cross varsity athletic teams have received Division I Academic Progress Rate public recognition awards from the NCAA. These teams posted multi-year APR scores in the top 10 percent of all squads in their respective sports. The public recognition awards are part of the broad Division I academic reform effort. Holy Cross' 14 total teams to be honored tied for the eighth most in the nation. Yale led the nation with 28 teams honored. (more)
