Crusaders Run At NCAA Northeast Regional

Bronx , NY . - The Holy Cross men's and women's cross country teams competed at the NCAA Northeast Regional at Van Cortlandt Park on Saturday, Nov. 13.

The Crusaders' top female runner was senior Erin Moseley (Carlisle, Mass.), who placed 131st with a time of 23:42.9.

Senior John Nieskens (Peterborough, N.H.) was the men's top runner, finishing 122nd with a time of 33:46.1.

The men's team came in at No. 27 with 814 points, while the women finished 29th with 865 points.

Senior captain Kate Thornton (Burbank, Calif.) place 162 nd with a time of 24:14.6, as freshman teammate Kristin Burke (Guilford, Conn.) rounded out the top-200 with a time of 25:21.4.

Senior James Clifford (Haworth, N.J.) finished 157th with a time of 34:37.2, as sophomore Stephen Kress (Portland, Maine) placed 172nd with a time of 35:06.5.

Providence 's Kim Smith won the women's individual title with a time of 20:08.8, helping the Friars win in the team title, as well, with 54 points.

Bruce Hyde from Cornell was the overall men's runner, with a time of 30.36, while Providence won the men's team title with 51 points.
