Patriot League Preseason Poll Released

WORCESTER, Mass. - The Holy Cross women's cross country team has been picked to finish seventh in the 2008 Patriot League preseason poll as voted on by head coaches and sports information directors from around the league. Navy, one of last year's defending co-champions, was picked to finish first as it earned 12 first-place votes and 94 overall points. Bucknell, the other defending co-champion, was picked to finish second accumulating four first-place votes and 88 overall points. Colgate had 71 overall points as it was picked to finish third, followed by Army (58 overall points), Lehigh (46 overall points), American (42 overall points), Holy Cross (26 overall points) and Lafayette (19 overall points).

The women's cross country team is set to kick off the 2008 season when they travel to Central Connecticut on Saturday, September 6, for the Central Connecticut Invitational. The Crusaders return 11 letterwinners and seven of the top scorers from last year
