Worcester, Mass. - The Holy Cross women's cross country team was voted eighth in the conference by the head coaches and sports information directors in this season's Patriot League preseason poll. Bucknell finished first in the poll with 92 total points and 13 first place votes. Lehigh was chosen second in the poll with 78 points and two first place votes.

Holy Cross is coming off of a 2005 season where the Crusaders won the Fitchburg Invitational and placed second in the Central Connecticut State Blue Devil Invitational. The Crusaders finished 8th in the Patriot League Championship meet.

Holy Cross will begin the 2006 season Saturday, September 2, when they travel to Central Connecticut State for the Blue Devil Invitational.
